I mainly play planetside 2 and battlefield 4 and I experience a lot of lag. I started my build off with an R9 270X then upgraded to an R9 290. When I upgraded I experienced little to no FPS boost, so I uninstalled all the drivers and re-installed them and still I didn't gain. Then I tried re-installing Windows 8.1 as well as all the drivers, and still I didn't gain any performance. I believe that my cpu is the problem here considering going from Low to Ultra graphics on planetside 2 didn't benefit or hurt me at all. I currently have an FX-8320 that was overclocked to 4.0GHz then later overclocked to a stable 4.6. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z2PX3C <-- That is my full build. I was just wondering if it really is my cpu, because I would hate to have to spend $350+ dollars to get a new one just to find out it was something else.

You're aware that lag refers to an unacceptable amount of time between input and response right? And not "crappy framerates"? So getting 25FPS when you want 60 is not lag. Getting 300ms ping when you want 40ms ping is lag. There was a time when all people young and old knew this.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.
