I was just watching a stream in fullscreen on my dads MBP, mainly to try out yosemite (Which is awesome) but that's besides the point.

When I was watching the stream, I heard the fans ramp up and I couldn't hold my fingers at the ventilation holes because it HURTS, that's how hot it gets. Now, this doesn't surprise me because my own MBP would also get as hot. I checked the activity monitor, and it showed a CPU usage of 120% at Google chrome helper, can anyone tell me what this is?

I don't know what that is but what I know is Chrome is a damn resource hog.

I'd use clicktoplugin with Safari. Then use QuickTime or HTML5 to watch videos/streams. Just don't use Adobe Flash unless you want to watch vids in 60fps. My fans don't even bother ramping up while watching videos. (Another MBP user here.)

I cba doing all that though since it's my dads MBP, and I've sold mine already. Just wondering why it would use that much

Oh, ok. Like I said, all I know is that Chrome uses much more than other browsers. Yours looks even more weird than mine though. :D
