Gpu choices

relwof

Hello everyone,

This is the last time i will ask about GPU'S

I currently have a 1080p BenQ display that runs at 144Hz but in the future i am looking at 4K displays

I am looking to play the latest games in the highest settings and also render video.

There are two choices:

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 SC "Reference Design" 4096MB GDDR5

+ An EKWB water block

Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Vapor-X OC 8192MB GDDR5

+ An EKWB water block

Thanks everyone so much for your time :)

Wait it out to see if this rumor about the 8gb 970/980 is true, then see how they perform on 4k, then make you choice, amd might also have something new out as well.

I'd go with the 980, more power efficient, and lots of OC headroom

Specs: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A DS3P RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz GPU: MSI R9 270 OC edition Case: Sharkoon VS3-S SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 1TB Caviar Blue PSU: Corsair CX500W

I belive that there are soon going to be 8gb versions of both of them so it would go down do you want better performance and energy usage or a couple of free games and sligtly less of booth of those things I listed.

Rumor site said expect an announcement in November or December, but if you want to game on 4K in the future like you said in your post, it is in your best interests to wait.

Unless you have bags of money.
