Windows 8 recovery

Hello guys! I'm having a hard time trying to recover my sister's laptop, she has a recovery partition, how do I use this partition to recover the laptop? Using Windows reset and reset to factory setting asked me to put a media device. I hope that someone can guide me to fix this problem. Thank you in advance.

There should be an option to revert to a previous image of Windows without having to do a factory reset. I had to do it on mine when I accidentally cleared some files in the system registry, and that worked for me.
