Hi guys,

I'm helping my friend build his first PC. We have decided on most of the parts except for the CPU. His primary use of the rig will be gaming. We're aiming for a rig under £700. He's thinking of getting an AMD CPU and since I'm not all that knowledgeable in terms of AMD products, I thought I'd seek advice here.

Thanks

Any Z97 motherboard and the Intel Pentium G3258 and Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, be sure to overclock your CPU.

Yeah, I already recommended that combo to him, but that leaves us with £30 to spare. I was thinking if there's any option from AMD that would provide a little bit more performance.
