video driver problems

Go to solution Solved by Tedster,

Hm. Do you still have the driver CD that came with your motherboard?

I think that should have the drivers you need.

hey guys

after my gtx460 died i am now forced to use my onboard gpu.

the problem is that it used to be picked up as amd radeon hd3000 but now just gets picked as amd 760G which is my chipset name.

i have tried installing the latest drivers via amd set-up and it just fails

i have also tried force installing via device manager and it still refused to install the drivers.

so i used older drivers and yet again it still refused to install.

now this is the first time ever that i have had problems installing the drivers for my on board and i have a feeling that it has something to do with my onboard picked up as the amd 760G and not radeon hd3000

is there anyway to get the drivers installed because at the moment games like minecraft refuse to work because theres no drivers (and yes the ones supplied with windows dont work with games either)

cheers

damian

Welcome to the club!

My PCI sockets are dead so I can't use my 650Ti or my 680, meaning that I'm stuck with my M5A78L-M/USB3's HD 3000.

I did have trouble with underscanning which I eventually fixed but don't remember how. Something to do with tinkering with the registry.

What motherboard are you using?

I think I just managed to get the autodetect to install the "right" drivers for me, so I don't know why it's not working for you.

Sig under construction.

Welcome to the M5A78L-M/USB3 club then!

Oh. Your signature. It says things.

Um...

I'll see what driver I'm using.

So, I'm using these drivers.

And Catalyst Control Center is practically useless:

And there's this interesting error thing that I don't really understand.

yeahhhh, I hate amd for these crappy drivers. I´ve read installing windows latest updates /windows 8.1/windows 7 sp1.

will fix the problem, but didn´t work for my pal.

What else you can try is, installing all net framework, directx webinstaller etc. general microsoft stuff.

good luck

dont take it as an offence mate but you sound like nvidia fan boy, its not driver related because there is no drivers installed, hence the post.

nvidia also have there own share of problems, like scaling issues, refusing to work if you have a dvi to vga adaptor (gtx480 and gtx760 to name a few)

in regards to your suggestion i will try that and see if it changes anything

not really an nvidia fan boy, going to buy an amd graphicscard, considering it is much cheaper and more powerful. But still I don´t like the drivers, never liked them, never going to like them. Nvidia systemsoftware ftw :,D
