Not sure if im asking for to much here, but anyway..

I mainly use my pc, play games youtube skype(almost every night) etc etc and 9/10 times I use my headset. Occasionally I play games on the xbox (mainly FIFA as its terrible on PC) and want to be able to listen to my TV volume and talk on skype playing both through my headset (steelseries 5H)

Is it even possible? I have a cheap speaker setup too (5.1 Logitechs) that I run both my tv and computer through and can control the volume on both which works perfectly, so basically I want to do the same but through my headset?

I'm not sure but there may be a Y-split cable from 2x 3.5mm in to 1x 3.5mm out.

Alternatively get a cheap pair of in-ears (iPod headphones) and have it in one ear, with your 5H's on your other ear.

Terve!
As far as I am guessing you should be able to just plug your headphones where you have your speakers, should you not wish to use them anymore.

Just make shure you have the same connector (in this case a 3.5mm jack). Should you wish to be able to use both of them without unplugging and plugging in, you can use the method mentioned above (2 male to 1 female splitter).

Hopefully I could help you a little with that.

No it would not. You would need something called a mixer and it's probably more money than you want to spend. Alternatively, you can plug a 3.5mm cable from the TV to the line in on your pc and that would work but there is a slight delay with that.

I have to admit that I am a little confused about your question.

If I got your situation correct than you have the speakers working as they should and you want to use the Headphones like them.

If you do not want to use the speakers anymore, just unplug them and plug the headphones in, where the speakers were. Also you could use the "2 female to 1 male" Splitter at this jack, should you want to use them both.

I do not see what kind of mixer you should use here.

Sorry if I am just too dumb to understand it.

If you would like to try something out for the "2 male to 1 female" splitter, you could get an adapter for the airplanes and get 3.5mm extensions for both male plugs.

You would have the two sources splitted though. This is not optimal, but it is payable and gives you something in the direction you want.

Yeah he probably mean't to quote me. It doesn't work like that. You can't just plug in 2 signals and expect them to play at the same time. Audio is a wave and when you mix 2 waves they distort each other. You can't just plug in 2 sources and expect them to work on one device.

I've never looked too much into this but Behringer mixers seem to be pretty popular.

If you generally have both on at the same time, then why not connect a line-in cable from the console, to the console, to the PC, while it may limit you to stereo audio from the console, it will match properly with the headphones, and you can adjust the console volume independently.

The new consoles don't have analog audio outputs.

I can only partitional agree with you. If you use my method, you have one source on each side of the speaker / headphones.

That is why I said that he should be using the airplane "splitter".

He wants to merge both sources not have one source on each side.

Okay so I went to a local "audio" store and asked the guy there who basically looked at me like I had 3 heads, and tried selling me a new tv saying it was the tv connectivity that was the issue. So really I'm lost on how I can do this if at all possible..

Is there any kind of audio mixer (or anything really) that I could run my tv audio and pc audio in, then just use a splitter to connect the speakers and headset to? If that makes any sense
