Is gainward a reliable brand?

ive never heard of them but i am considering buying the gainward 970 phantom since it is one of the cheaper cards here in Aus compared to the bigger brand ASUS, MSI, etc

I've thought about going with one of their GPUs too. They do look kinda cool. But I guess I also think about the customer service provided by a said company when purchasing anything. I know that EVGA has the best customer service. But you I thing Gigabyte are alright too. :)

But if you have any problems for it, just take it back to the shop you bought it from under warranty.

Unfortunately most shops will just tell you to, or will themselves, pass the product on to the manufacturer to fix any issues after a period of about 2 weeks. So, if one is looking for a free replacement it probably won't happen unless the card is damaged beyond repair or just unfixable.

I had a gainward card a few years back and only had problems with it and the customer service was horrible.

Don't skimp out a few bucks on something expensive like a gpu.

Thanks to your post I now know to definitely avoid them. :)

I've never heard of Gainward which isn't saying to much since they might not really be a US retailer. But unless it's a pretty big price difference it might be worth it kto pay a few extra bucks to go with a company that has a known better customer service for peace of mind if you ever need to warranty it. That said do some research on their CS and then make a decision.
