Except I heard that it uses a lot of power and gets very hot. If it is true that a 550w power supply is not enough, I do not want to spend more on getting a better power supply.

Only the reference models are stereotyped to get very hot. The third party coolers are perfectly fine. They do use more power but a 550W Seasonic G is a very solid power supply and will be able to handle it no problem

Please don't start a war, Please.

What war? A 290 is 780 level performance, and there's some that are even cheaper then that 770. There's no debate here.

Some one will say get a 970 instead.  I wonder how many replies until it happens.

maybe get a 970 instead and those fans might not be the quietest if that matters, but considering they're $0.01 looks good :)

Whoomp there it is

I am building my first PC that I will be gaming on. I am thinking it is ready but are there any changes you guys would make? I am in Canada by the way. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/NZQzCJ[1]

Nice.

You may want to consider Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card which currently has pretty decent pricing.

The Seasonic G 550W is 160mm long which does fit in the case but is tight. Silverstone ST60F-PS is a little more expensive but only 140mm long, 10mm under the 150mm recommended max length.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

;) well he wasn't wrong

also there are some major platform differences between nvidia and amd graphics cards, if all you care about is performance then check benchmarks, but if you want things like gsync, gamestream or mantle and true audio etc then you have to go with that brand for the time being at least.

do you think it would be worth it to spend more and get some better fans? I just kinda picked em up since they were free but I do want some fans on the top

The Windforce 290 is $300 which is $20 cheaper then the 770 before rebate. Even after rebate it's only $10 more for quite a bit more performance.

For 5 bucks (not considering that they're 1 cent after rebate) they're not bad.

Ya it might be if you want to get a bit more performance as well as silence. I mean I bought silverstone ap123 so that's where I stand.
