Hello!

I am thinking about painting my ekwb backplate with plastidip and give my case a bit of flair but I'm wondering if it might get hot (as it is not directly watercooled) and bubble the plastidip and if I can paint it at all (whether it be with plastidip or another paint) or should I get a vinyl wrap. I am about 99% certain it should be okay but you're better safe than sorry.

Cheers

Yes there is no need to worry when putting plasti-dip on the backplate since it is able to withstand temperatures of up to 100C before any adverse effects, also vinyl wrap is another good solution but just depends on the look you are going for.

Using plastidip is fine. If you're worried about overheating then just put on a light coat. ;)

Im a little late but i want to wrap an MSI R9 390 (front armour and backplate) with 3M dinoc, will this be a sensible thing to do or not?

Best to make a new topic and link the old one next time to not bring old topic back up.

As for vinyl wrapping the r9 390 it can be done fairly easily on the backplate but the front it would be a bit more difficult due to the surfaces. Taking apart the front shroud and separating the pieces to individually wrap them would be your best bet.

I have a guide under Vinyl wrap and Decals that go into depth on this topic:

Plastidip is good for 100C, so you could literally spray it on the core and it will thermal throttle first before that happened.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.
