I had an issue earlier (HDD crapped out) and had to reinstall Windows (on my SSD). I installed the drivers via the Driver CD that came with my Asus Z97-A and everything went OK. But when I upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 (installed via USB, don't have an 8.1 product key), my LAN driver no longer worked, or at least I don't think it did as I had to uninstall and reinstall it before I could connect to the internet.

My question is do I need to reinstall the other drivers, too? It seems odd that just one of them needed reinstalled. The other two (that I can see from the uninstall page) are Intel Management Engine Components and the Realtek Audio Driver. Is there anyway to tell if they are working properly?

Thanks.

Well first of all upgrade from 8 to 8.1 is free, you don't need an 8.1 product key.

You don't need to reinstall the other drivers if everything is working properly except the LAN. Just reinstall your LAN driver.

Thanks for the reply.

I know it's free, I was saying I don't have an 8.1 product key and I had to upgrade via the WS.

It's seems like it's working fine, but Firefox is using up to about 10% of the CPU when refreshing or opening a new page (running 4790K), is that normal? It seems abnormal to me.

That could be problem with chipset drivers. Maybe you should update/reinstall that one too.
