Hi. I am currently working on a budget build (under 1000$ CAD) for a Christmas goal. I am just wondering if I could lower the price of this build - http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/FronTLinE/saved/TKbypg for the same or even better performance. I am looking for under 900$ or a little bit over that but with an SSD.

1. Budget & Location
I have a budget of 800-950$. I live in Canada so PC parts are a little bit higher
2. Aim
I am mostly going to play games like Skyrim, DoTA2, LoL, MMORPG games, Heavily Modded Minecraft, etc. but I will also do some photo and video editing for a school course. I'd like to play the games at max settings with very smooth FPS.
3. Monitors
I plan on running it on 1 1920x1080 monitor.
4. Peripherals
For now, I'll just take reccomendations for which monitor to get. I am not including the peripherals in the budget. I can also get an OS for free in our school.
5. Why are you upgrading?
The desktop I'm using right now is starting to show its age. I can't run most of the games without lowering the resolution and putting all of the video settings to low :(

EDIT: I am into Overclocking to make it even more futureproof

Are you into OCing?

Could save some money with an H97 board and a no-K CPU if loss of OCing isn't a big deal. Could also drop the optical drive, if you do that you should be able to find a NZXT S340 for cheaper than the R4.

EDIT: Seems that first idea won't work. Hmm.

Yes. I'd like to overclock it for futureproofing. I forgot to put it up

The build you have their now is as good as your gonna get, you could save money by trying a case like the 200R.

Not to doubt you but why on your profile does it say you are getting a GTX 970?

I guess I'll just have to rely on Sales and Specials xD.
