Helping getting my case fan back running

Upon taking my case apart for maintenance today I disconnected one side panel and the cable attached to it for fan power.

Here are the connectors for my case to power supply :

On each of them a secondary female input hangs off of both of them. I remember only 1 being connected to one and one hanging off each of them. I tried all the combinations since it didn't work at first & I'm not sure why the fan isn't working, please help!

Make sure to connect the female molex from the PSU to the male molex of the fan, if it still doesn't work be sure you didn't unseat any of the molex pins, if they do repin it in place.

What do you mean by unseat? Do you mean like bend or mess them up? It's still not working. I plugged them male end of the fan into the femal end for the power supply. If by unseating you meant screwing up the pins they all look find inside you can even see them in the pictures.

They are also extremely hard to fit together. I have to use lots of force to put them on and take apart. I'm not sure if this is normal for molex pins or not.

Sometimes the metal tabs that keep the pins in place bend or come loose and they may not make contact with each other, but if they are not loose then that's kinda strange, what fan is it thats being powered?

Here is the setup currently as you directed:

Here is how I have the cables connected. The ones on the left connect to power supply and the ones on the right go to the fan.

The below is the actual fan. It's my main side case fan on my In Win case.

Wait how is that male molex from the PSU connected, it looks like the female molex you have connected is coming off of the male molex which i don't think I've seen before, unless from an adapter.

Everything looks correct though.

it may be hard to see but in the original pictures in each pic there are a male and female plug. You can't really see it but they come off the same wiring. So from the case fan it goes to a male molex plug, and from the end a famel end comes off of the back of it.

Below is the updated status:

My case fan is now functional again. I plugged it into the black molex plug you see. This also shows you what you were wondering about. You can see the female molex plug in my hand is coming out of the back of the male molex plug I have plugged in.

Thanks for your help. I guess my problem is "solved" but I don't know what I did to fix it besides finding a new plug. I had this PC built for me in 2011. I'm installing a GTX970 in my PC later this week (Tuesday), and eventually going to completely rebuild a new PC and put the 970 in it. So I'm trying to learn a lot off of this currently build PC. I'm so confused on where everything plugs in...I'm confident in installing all my components to the motherboard and have an idea of what parts I want for the build. I just don't know where to plug everything in =/

Hmm but what happen to the other male/female connector previously, since I can see the male connector is now going into a different female molex from the PSU that's black:

Like I said I found a new molex plug that was literally just hanging in my case and said "why not" and tried plugging it in. I'm very confused...because I distinctly remember taking it off the white plug. I remember because I grabbed a wrench to get a good grip on one side against the little edges that stick out on the female plug...

I'm literally lost. As I mentioned I had this PC built for me in 2011. I'm trying to learn to build myself one in the next month-2 months, hopefully ordering all my parts around black friday if any sales come up. I'm going to have to open the other side of the case where the wiring is all hiding and see what the heck is going on. As for what happened to the other setup of molex plugs I just tucked it away in an empty hardrive bay. I wish there was a guide on learning computer wiring =/

Well it works, not exactly sure why it wouldn't on the other but no worries (:

As for wiring guides for more specific details such as voltages and pin outs, usually wiring diagrams tend to work pretty well espically when doing custom cables or sleeving, it gets confusing very quick.
