Azerty trouble

So one of my friends laptop has the issue of typing "*" when she types a "p", "-" when she types a "m", "à" types "/" and "=" puts out a "+", all the other letters are correct. i have put the input of the keyboard in belgian(point) and also changed the primary language to dutch(belgium). i don't know why her keyboard still puts out wrong letters.

Do you have an additional keyboard that you might try with the system in question?

It could be a failure of the actual keyboard.

it runs on windows 8, i can try to plug in a other keyboard and try that later today

I had a similar issue with a UK style keyboard on a US version of Windows 8. For instance, when trying to make a @ by pressing shift+2 I'd get a " even though the Windows settings were set correctly.

 

I had to go into Control Panel > In the top right select either Small or Large Icons > Language.

Then remove all languages that do not match the keyboard layout.

Try to remove all keyboards other than the English one.

If im not mistaking you are using an AZERTY keyboard.

Try setting it to french instead of belgian, i had the same problem with a laptop (i put it on dutch in stead of english (for QWERTY)).
