Thanks,

Why Dominator Platinum instead of Vengeance Pro and why 2 970 instead of 1 980?

Dominator Platinum because it looks cool

And dual 970's because it will outperform a single 980.

Will 2 MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G outform 1x MSI GTX 980 GAMING 4G?

Yes.

2 970's will always outperform a single 980. No matter what the models.

What do you think of this?

You dont need an i7 for gaming, though since with my build you didnt even get to 1k8 so if you want you can, no problem.

The H100i is quite old, get a H110 or H220-X or Kraken X61 instead

The Gaming 9 is really nice, but it have a bunch of additional feature you probably wont need. Compare it with a MSI Z97 G45 or Gaming 5 and see which one suit your need better, it can save you a bit of money.

2 970 is stronger than 1 980 while being only 110$ more expensive. The things is, 1 970 is only about 10-15% slower than 1 980, so for games that dont support SLI, a 970 is still a beast, especially since it trade blow with a GTX 780. Second, most of the high demanding games nowaday will support SLI from launch if the title is sponsor by Nvidia, or will have the driver to support SLI within a week over Geforce Experiences, and in term of performance 2 970 is alot better than 1 980. The scaling issue usually come with 3 ways or 4 ways SLI where it's not worth it anymore, but for 2 ways, the performance improve by around 80%.

And why a 480 GB SSD? You do know that most game dont gain benefit from running on a SSD compare to running on a HDD right? The loading time may be abit faster, about 1-5 seconds (with the exception of BF4 which got alot faster, about 20-30 secs) but in game it's exactly the same. And it even less useful if it's online games since you have to wait for everyone else anyway. So usually if it's for gaming only, I'd suggest a 120 to 240 GB SSD so you can install a few games that can actually benefit from it such as BF4, and 480GB+ is usually for people who do photoshop stuff that run on SSD alot. Ofc you can get it, but to me I think it just a waste of money for no good reason :P

Is the ASUS Maximus a better choice then the GAMING 9-AC from MSI?

Not really... motherboard now aday are very similar when you compare them with each other, so in the end it depend on a few things like this: do it support SLI? how many sata port, additional feature like KillerEthernet? Onboard audio? etc. So look up those stuff while choosing a mobo

"One gpu is alway better than multiple ones" -Linus Sebastian

Haha, old Linu's quote. Too bad it's TOO old now. Read one of my previous post here for the reason why. Also Linus himself said in one of the video right after Nvidia release 970 and 980 that when he talk with a Nvidia's staff, he said something like "Wow, so the 970 will be a killer choice" and then the Nvidia's staff goes "Nah, 980 is better" and then Linus reasoning something like what I said and the Nvidia's staff goes "Oh yeah, right" :P
