HD558 pricing

After a metric butt ton of research and reviews I have decided to purchase the HD 558 as my first decent set of headphones.  However I was dissappointed when I found they were about $150 on Amazon and more everywhere else I looked.  On most of the reviews they have the price closer to $125 which aligns more perfectly with my budget.  Are they usually 150 or has the price just increased for some reason???

The price moves around a bit, generally goes up a bit around the holidays and down after the new year. 
HD518's make a better value anyway.

OK so it is a bit high right now at 150 and it  most likely because the holidays??  I would have thought the price hikes wouldn't happen for about another month...

Oh and Thank you for making me away that PC part picker tracks head phone prices.  I already have a price drop alert setup.

If you go on camelcamelcamel, you see that they were $99.98 on October 7th. People must have done a mass jump and bought them.
