Connecting my printer?

Hi guys

 

I would like to connect my wifi printer to my desktop, but our network is very strangely setup.
I made a quick diagram with my amazing Photoshop talent. :D

I was thinking about getting a wireless card for my pc and connecting it to the wifi signal of our router but I'm not sure if that would work since i'm still connected via wire.

 

Connecting everything to the build-in router in the modem isn't possible because the range is amazingly poor.
