mATX recommendation?

Hi guys,

I am building a new rig out of my existing 350D case. (actually i'm building this for a friend).

I am looking for a mATX board to house the i7-4790 k. I need a very good a on-board audio and sound amplifier so that I can have 2 GPU in SLI on the board and still enjoy excellent sound quality. There are plenty of reviews on ATX board but not as many on mATX board.

I have a z87 gryphon in my rig. It has good onboard sound, I connect my hd8 dj to it. And I have 2way sli with Titans.

I assume that the z97 is better. So yeah the gryphon is a good MB

And I also have a 350 d

The Maximus VII Gene seems to fit you bill very well.

Your build sounds extremely similar to my machine.

how well are you able to overclock with your gryphon?

How much room do you have between your titans? I'm concerned about the Airflow actually.

if using the standard blower cooler, very tight on all mATX (other than the G1.Sniper M5).

backplates will smother the fan and the open PCB can be shorted with the metal cooler

housing.

since using a 350D the 5th PCI slot helps a lot!

but the caveat is watercooling CPU/2x GPU with adequate radiator support as the 350D is

lacking in that department. the arc mini R2 is able to handle the rads, but only a 4-slot PCI

config.
