Perfect Sensor Mice

Go to solution Solved by atavax,

the g502 is the king when it comes to sensors. The Corsair m45 is the worst of the lot tracking wise. The rest i would say are pretty even. The Naos 7000 is kind of a bitch to pick up so doesn't work great with low sensitivities. I have heard too many stories of bad quality control with the Rival to recommend. But yeah, you're going to have to narrow it down from there.

I'm looking for some mice with "perfect sensors" or sensors with zero acceleration. So far, I have narrowed down the search to just the Logitech g502 and Razer Deathadder Chroma. Any help is appreciated. RGB lighting is important, since my keyboard is rgb. I have the logitech simply because it is so awesome looking and is so customizable.

I've ruled out basically every other mouse on the market.

G502:

Pros:

Futuristic look

More buttons

Weight tuning

Hyper-speed Scroll

Cons:

No RGB lighting

Scroll wheel is slippery

Deathadder:

Pros:

RGB Lighting

Simplistic look

Grippy Scroll wheel

Cons:

Fewer buttons

No hyper-speed scroll

Only 10 million clicks vs g502 20 million

I have ruled out the mionix aviors, any zowie mice, any madcatz mice, as well as the roccat kone pure because of ergonomics. Any help is appreciated.

Roccat kone xtd optical is one you didnt mention.

If you want the absolute cheapest mouse, the Perixx MX-1800 should be on the list. It does have an acceleration option, but it can be turned completely off. The sensor is the A3090, which was the best sensor a year or two ago. The problem I have with mine is the mwheel wiggles a bit, which doesn't matter for scrolling, but sometimes makes it hard to actually hit the mwheel button. Fully programmable with macros and it saves the settings to the mouse too (works once setup without any software at all). If you can get past the scroll wheel, it's absolutely amazing for such a cheap mouse.

edit: and yes, I've tested it and it IS a perfect sensor mouse. slow rotate vs fast rotate always lands in the same spot on cs:go.

What colored light does it have? Looks pretty cool to me.

Have you considered the logitech G100s? If you dislike large Zowie mice you might like the tiny G100s. Pro CS players use that so it is a very good mouse. It is really light which in my opinion is one of the most important factors besides the sensor.

I don't really like the look of logitech's mice (except for g502 and g402)

including ones you already mentioned simply so its a reference for others as well. Also, i included some mice with a low max speed because it would be too difficult to determine what the lowest acceptable max speed should be.

@atavax THX so much. That's my list right there, minus the ones without fancy lighting. Leaving the Asus Gladius, Asus Strix Claw, Corsair M45, Logitech g402 & g502, Avior and Naos 7000, Deathadder Chroma, Kone pure, and Steelseries Rival. Now can u help me decide between these? I like sniper buttons and RGB lighting. Bold ones have RGB and italics have sniper button. There's also the m65 which is laser but has both rgb and sniper button.

Basically any color. You can configure it yourself, even off, pulse and strobe.

Nvm, ruled out the perixx because my friend showed me one and it didn't feel right in my hand.

It has interchangeable side plates so you can alter it to fit your hand. two different options for each side. I use the large left and small right side plates.

@Lotus How is the build quality and the software? There aren't many reviews out there of it. Also, can u have it change colors? Or do you have to change it in the software every time? I am kinda worried since its a smaller less trustworthy company.

The color of the light is bound to which mouse profile you use. You can't have it change colors automatically, but you can tell it to pulse, breathe, or solid on a single color (or if you set the RGB to 0 0 0, it'll turn it off). The software is kinda iffy on the translation, but functionally it works well. Just be warned: do NOT disconnect your mouse when you hit "apply" because it's literally reflashing the mouse whenever you do, which is why you only need the software to set up the mouse, not run it, which means it even works in Linux once set up. It also causes the mouse to kind of freeze for a few seconds when you do, so just don't panic and wait. If you want to change colors, you can just have all the mouse profiles set to identical settings except for the color, and assign one of the buttons on it to swapping mouse profiles. Build quality seems like great materials, but poor fit and finish. It has a solid aluminum base, fully sleeved cable, and the plastic feels great and sturdy in the hands and very grippable (not slippery). It's just that mouse wheel is so sloppy and awkward. The buttons are awesome, the sensor is awesome (LOD could be better, but whatever), and really everything (except that damn mouse wheel) feels awesome. As I said, it's fine for scrolling, but really shitty as a button. That's its only real downside. If you can get past that, it's the best budget mouse IMO. If you want to check out the software, they have it for download on their website. For $22, you really can't beat it. Heck even for $40 you can't beat it.

As to whether it'll be comfortable for you, remember that only the side panels are interchangeable. The large top panel is not. I personally find it very comfy with what I chose.

Awww, well. I think I will still be going with the larger companies for now. But thanks for the great suggestion!

Definitely choose Razer DeathAdder!

I have it and its awesome. At first I was like you (it doesnt have that much extra buttons...), but in the end you dont really need them. Razer DeathAdder is just so GREAT and so easy programable. Besides u get some awesome stickers too. :-D

I mean after all, all the weight tuning and extra key functions are just too much to choose a config that fits you. You will endup confused and with a worse gaming experience. DeathAdder may not be that customizable, but it is already at perfect, so you dont actually need any of that.

alright, cool. Very good mouse. Only reason i don't use it is because its too heavy for my taste. I would kill for a 70 gram mouse with its sensor :P

The only thing that could be considered a flaw is that it doesn't use smoothing, which means at very high DPIs there is some jitter. But especially if you lose a low sensitivity, there is no need for you to exceed like 3000 dpi, so it shouldn't be an issue. really you should always use as low a dpi as you can get away with.

Oh, one more thing. To get best performance you want the mouse to be running off of the settings on the mouse. So install the logitech software, customize your settings, then never close the software, so its running off the saved customized settings on the mouse, not the software on your pc.

Roccat kone xtd optical is one you didnt mention.

Wayyyyyy too expensive

And it's huge.

I do want to mention a couple of points about the Deathadder. Lack of onboard memory, if you take your stuff to net cafes or something like I do, this becomes a really big problem. The mouse defaults with no drivers to 1600DPI, where I'd usually have mine set to 400. Since it's a public PC, I can't install Synapse

Other mice with "Perfect sensors" include:

-Any of the Mionix mice with optical sensors, I think the highest being the 7000DPI one (Which, save yourself a few dollars and get like a 3500dpi one. Same mouse, same features AFAIK and you don't need crazy high DPI)

-Corsair M45

-Steelseries Rival

-Basically anything from Zowie. Bear in mind you get very few features for the money. No software either meaning no customizable DPI steps. Ridiculously overbuilt though, there's a reason all the cool Korean kids have Zowie Keyboards/Mice

-CM Storm Spawn - This is about as hardcore claw grip as a mouse gets. Again, no customizable DPI steps

-CM Storm Alcor - Good luck finding information on this one

Only 10 million clicks vs g502 20 million

Just to give you some food for thought, if you really think those "x million clicks" mean anything, 10 million clicks means that the mouse will break after one thousand days (roughly 3 years) with 10 thousand clicks everyday. Do you even click that much? Do you even have the same mouse for that long?

Don't take those stupid things into consideration when choosing a mice. Rather, think about comfort, reliability, sensor quality, price and warranty.

Read reviews and go to a store to try them out (if you can), don't take marketing into consideration when buying.
