  1. The gen 2 has 3 versions. Regular, hpc, and lpc. The base for the hpc is for how Intel CPUs warp
  2. I have a 13900k that I want an air cooler for. I figure the new nhd15. I have a thermal grizzly support bracket, so the CPU isn't warped; so do I still get the one with the base designed for warped Intel CPUs?
  3. it's old and out of warranty. It's SFF, a Louqe ghost s1; so i doubt there's space for a card
  4. I plug an ethenet cable into my PC and i don't get any windows notification of it being connected. It says the ethernet port is not connected to the internet. If I move my other PC to that desk and connect it with the same ethernet cable it works fine. I go to the motherboard website and download the latest LAN driver for the motherboard for windows 10 and when i try to install it, it says something about it not being compatible with my operating system, even though it's clearly has windows 10 in the name of the driver, and I even double checked and made sure the PC had windows 10 and not another version of windows. So I go to device manager and try to update my ethernet port that way and it says it already has the latest drivers. Do I just assume that the ethernet port on that motherboard is damaged and accept no wired internet with that PC until i swap motherboards?
  5. ok, that must be it then. I have to go to bed so i can't test it thoroughly, but it crashing much faster after the first crash really made me think overheating was likely. I just would expect something other than the game crashing from overheating.
  6. I have a push/pull 360mm lianli cooler. It is getting hot which is kind of inevitable with a 13900k, but would that cause just the game to crash and not the entire PC? I will try underclocking next just in case
  7. When I try to play path of exile 2, or deadlock, the game will crash somewhere between 4 and 16 minutes into the game. If I load the game up immediately afterwards it will crash again in the first minute. If I keep repeatedly loading into the game, eventually the PC will freeze of crash. My PC doesn't crash when i play hades 2 for a long session. i have a 7900xtx gpu. i9-13900k cpu, 64gb of ram. 1300W seasonic PSU. Bios is f12 I started off in popOS and roughly 6 months ago deadlock was working fine, and at the launch of path of exile 2 beta, it was working fine; but when i started trying to play both again, this crashing started. I Tried CachyOS, and Nobara and couldn't get them working in any, so switched to windows got the same crashing in windows. One of the times it crashed i got a message about a file being corrupted and to verify game files. So I obviously tried verifying game files; that didn't resolve it. I tried installing the game on 3 different hard drives in case 1 or 2 were starting to go; that didn't resolve it. I tried stress testing the GPU and CPU and both were stable. I used DDU to wipe drivers and installed an older driver and then i tried 1 more older driver and while both games crashed with the older drivers; they seemed to last longer than average. It was very rare for either game to last more than 7 minutes and with the older drivers the PC lasted over 12 minutes in both games. I wiped drivers again with DDU and installed the rtx 3080 I have in my VR rig and the games crashed with the 3080 and modern nvidia drivers as well. Any ideas what to do next?
  8. I left my PC on overnight. The following morning it wouldn't awaken from sleep. I turned it off then on again. No post. Double checked connections; no post. Disconnected everything but monitor; no post. Removed 1 ram stick; post. Put ram stick back in the same slot; post. I9-13900k Gigabyte z790 2x32gb ddr5 6600 7900 xtx Seasonic prime 1300W
  9. right clicking on my sound icon and clicking on the sound mixer option, i found that the sound settings for mozilla was muted, so i just had to unmute mozilla there.
  10. sound works in google chrome. Somehow it's only my headphone sound not working and it's only not working in mozilla
  11. so my headphone sound stopped working in my web browser (mozilla) but it works in discord. and my speakers work in my browser still. So i know my headphones work, and i know the sound in my browser works, but I can't get my browser sound to work with my headphones. And I've tried rebooting the pc and replugging in my headphones.
  12. yeah, I was a bit hesitant of the zenfone 10 because I use Verizon and even the unlocked ones say they aren't compatible with Verizon. But after doing more research it sounds like the lack of CDMA support which is why it's not supposed to be compatible with Verizon is only an issue with Verizon's 3g; so if my area is using Verizon 4g, I should be fine? i think my pixel 5's battery is about to die, less than an hour of web browsing usage and it's below 20%. So it's either risk it with the zenfone 10, suck it up with a bigger phone, like the pixel 7a; or try to replace my phone's battery which doesn't look particularly easy looking at a video on it.
  13. budget is $1200; i don't mind paying a little bit of a premium, but don't want to bush one of those ridiculous super high end phones. I currently have a pixel 5 phone, so something not much bigger than that with a noticeably longer battery life. what I do with it is web browse, use discord, watch videos, use it for directions on how to get somewhere.
  14. are there any phones that are like f it; we're going to put in a less powerful CPU but give you really good battery life?
  15. i'm not seeing the option in Malwarebytes to do that
