Hi everyone,

im thinking about build a new PC. The thing is im a little insecure about building it now or better wait for a while because of all the incompatibility and failures issues with all the new haswell-e, x99 chipset, ddr 4 combo.

The Build:

SSD:                           Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB

CPU:                           Intel Core i7-5820K

RAM:                           G.Skill RipJaws 4 DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-2400

Motherboard:              ASUS X99-Deluxe / ASUS X99-Pro (Im still not sure wich one)

Fan:                            Noctua NF-F12 PWM x 5

Case:                          Phanteks Enthoo Pro

Water Cooling:            Corsair Hydro Series H60 2nd Gen

PSU:                           Corsair RM Series RM650 650W

GPU:                          Gainward Phantom GTX 770 (3 months old)

So guys what do u think is safe to build it now or should i wait? Another thing im not going to be overclocking do I need the Asus Deluxe or the Pro is enough? I will appreciate any kind of advice. Thnxs in advance.

Firstly, where do you live? What is this PC going to be used for? Why are you not going to overclock (It's a massive waste if you do not overclock)? What is your maximum budget?

dont get a 5820K. a 4790K is a better value. get a 4790K and a gtx 780 or a gtx 980.

and when you get a i7 4790K you have to get another mainboard and DDR3 RAM. so it will be aaaallooooot cheaper and then you can get a better graphics card and a h100i.

for gaming you dont need x99 AT ALL.

Reuse your GTX 770 and PSU. What RAM do you have? What about HDD?

What about 4k will this be posible with a LGA 1150? I might be becoming a new 4K monitor for Christmas.

Yes. In gaming, there is no difference between a $340 4790K and a $1000 5960X. The 5960X would only pull ahead if you were gaming, live streaming with webcam feed, unzipping some files and transcoding a video all at the same time. The 4790K would choke up a bit while the 5960X would chug along happily.

For a gamer, the best CPUs are the 4690K and 4790K. You will definitely want to be overclocking. It's stupidly easy to do these days and there are no associated risks to your hardware.

I disagree about using a GTX 770 as that's a rather dated and not extremely powerful GPU. But it's up to you.

If you want to game @ 4K resolution the minimum recommendation is 2X GTX 970 in SLI. That will give you a good framerate in most games at 4K. Don't forget that running 4K is the same load on your GPU as running 4 1080P screens. That's a lot.

If you want to save a bit of cash stick to 1080P or 1440P. You won't need as insane of a GPU solution that way.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

Keep all of that stuff, it's certainly sufficient. As for the 970, only upgrade to that when you get a nice 1440p monitor, like the Asus RoG Swift.
