3d animation and rendering promotional build.

hello all

long time LTT fan, first time subscriber/poster.

I have sitting on my desk a promotional build awaiting my attention, I'm a computer store owner and the I.T director of a local organisation. australian.

what we are looking at is an ultimate workstation build, 2 off identical systems. these systems will be for 3d animation/architecture (for animation and game design) and 3d and video rendering (for online and local film work).

the build that has been suggested by my counterpart contains 4 gtx 980's, oc'd and watercooled.

now my thoughts are different. as far as i know the 980's want be a great hand at 3d design and animation (mudbox and 3ds max) but i may be mistaken.
in my version of the build i have placed 2 gtx titan z's and a high level quadro card (yes we are team green)

what are peoples thoughts on these options?

we will be running with 5-6 1tb ssd's in raid5-10 for speed and redundancy with some 4tb HDD's

the mobo we have chosen supports simultaneous 4 way x16 and naturally have the 5960 x extreme edition.

the costs and such are not an issue as 1 of the systems is a prize in a competition and the second system will be used internally.

xeon e5 12/14 core something (can't remember which one is it).

some dual socket motherboard that can slot into the processor if not then grab a mode lower that is compatible with a dual socket motherboard.

8gb ecc stick of ram and fill em all.

quadro k6000 or whatever is newer.

western digital red drives for storage.

intel 730 ssd's for boot.

seasonic x760/860 or something from seasonic gold/platinum. they work and are reliable. even the older seasonic x-1050 and 1250 but seems kinda too much for this.

caselabs case that can fit that kind of motherboard.

note: I have never touched any e5 xeons, ecc ram, quadro but I've seen stuff about them. rest I have personal experience with.

this is in no way game related rig. btw was thinking of pcpartpicker but kinda seem limited. might edit my post to something more understandable and with links to be able to see it better. gonna be using amazon as it's easier and simple and you can get them somewhere else since the links I'll post will be there to just give you an idea.
