Just plug in your HDD to the motherboard and it will have no issues.

The OS is stored on the HDD, not the motherboard.

If i have Windows 8.1 already installed on my hard drive but still have the cd for it (64 bit..) Will i be able to install windows 8 on the new motherboard without having to buy a new one? Will it just use the copy on my harddrive and will it be able to easy to switch over?

Solution

Just plug in your HDD to the motherboard and it will have no issues.

The OS is stored on the HDD, not the motherboard.

5800X3D - RTX 4070 - 2K @ 165Hz
