Install Nvidia drivers without the Control Panel?

Hi,

I want to use PStrip (PowerStrip -- an old program for overclocking just about everything) to overclock my monitors like I used to with my AMD card. Nvidia's CRU doesn't work for these monitors, and PStrip calculates all of the variables for you and has real-time adjustment. It doesn't work with Nvidia, and, with some research, it seems like the problem is because of Nvidia's CRU. So, how can I install Nvidia drivers without installing the control panel? I tried extracting the installer with 7-zip, but it looks like the control panel and driver are tied together.

Thanks

I use a Lenovo T440: i5 4300U, 8GB RAM, 128GB Samsung 840 Evo, 14" 900p display and an external 23" 1080p passive 3D monitor. Extended 6-cell battery with internal 3-cell. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (I only use open-source software -- haven't paid for a single program yet).
