Changing from Killer to Intel

So I have the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and as you all know it has the Killer NIC, which is well documented in troubles. I currently get lag spikes for absolutely no reason at all and it is the only thing I can find that could be causing the problems. I do not have the software suite installed, just the drivers as described in this thread at the official MSI forums: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=178063.0

 

So I am about to say to hell with it and buy me an intel NIC. Looking for a decent one for up $50 USD. Please recommend me some good ones.

The first one is the one I was eyeing on Newegg. It appears the only difference is the wake on lan feature. Atleast according to the specs of them.

I think either one will have Wake on LAN. I think the version with BLK at the end is a bulk packaged version designed for businesses to distribute them and stuff while the more expensive one is in retail packaging.

Very possible, was just the only feature difference between the 2 spec sheets listed on Newegg, which we all know is sometimes terribly inaccurate.

I had very bad experience with that killer. Hopefully fixed with update. Killer sucks.

Yea, thats why im going to swap out for a discrete intel. What suggestions do you make?

I don't know. After update my problem solved (after booting windows sometimes I didn't have internet & it needed reboot) & now works fine. I also disabled killer manager on startup.

Anyway if you still want to change, maybe this? It has quite good rating. Be sure your motherboard has compatible slot for it.

I ended up selecting THIS for my purchase. Thank you for the input.
