Hey guys.

Been looking at the 6GV2 for a while now for its minimal, clean look and lack of backlighting (I want to change out a few of the keys later on). In other words, it looks really normal, and that's kind of what I'm going for. The one thing that gets me is its oversized enter key, shrunken shift key, and relocated backslash. Are there any keyboards out there with a similar look but with a more standard key layout? Or is the 6GV2's layout actually not as bad as it looks and easy to get used to? As far as switches go, I prefer blues, but blacks and reds are just fine too.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: And before I forget, something preferably in the same price range as well (80-100 USD).

Thanks, I'm actually looking at the Rapid right now, backlighting isn't really something I want. Appreciate the pointer.

well I bought a steelseries 6gv2 red edition that has over-sized enter key and normal left shift key.
I was actually referring to the right shift key, since the backslash key was moved there. Do you find that it takes time to get used to the different layout at all?

I would have said a Filco Majestouch 2 (This baby http://ncix.com/products/?sku=70725&vpn=FKBN104ML%2FEFB2&manufacture=Filco) but then I saw your price range. I just got a filco with browns, and I am so happy with it. So maybe save up a bit, and get a Filco.

Other than that I only heard good about cooler master's small keyboards. They use the same OEM as filco does, so that is pretty sweet.

Filco, Rosewill and Leopold offer high quality & minimalistic mechanical keyboards.
Hm, you should keep those brands in mind though. Some retailers offered amazing deals on some models this past holiday. But I don't think you'll get a mechanical keyboard that fits your need at this price point except for the 6GV2. Please let me know, if you do.

Ended up buying the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid with blues, found it on Amazon today on sale for $55 USD. Apparently they got rid of the generous logos and branding on the recent models! A little bit iffy on the tenkeyless, but I've never touched a numpad in my life, so I think I'll be fine.

Thanks for everyone's replies!
