1.5gb VRAM Usage While Idle...

I have Asus GTX 750 ti OC 2GB , and the vram usage is unusually high and I have to logoff and start again or restart to clear the vram to normal.

Right now as I am using chrome the vram is more than 1584MB and climbing continuously, no games are running in the backgroud , only chrome.

this unusual climb usually takes place after some gameplay, then chrome usage with flash player.

anyway of knowing whats causing this?

Probably youtube videos ? i don't know if it would use that much tho

from checking google chrome task manager, no it is not chrome ..

it seems to be climbing continuously, now its almost full...wth...

right now with just chrome window open its taking up 1890MB VRAM and still climbing

Hm weird. Try GPU-Z maybe.

reading is not faulty, gameplay during this time is slow ... after logging off , it is back to normal...

I dont knw how reliable this software is ...

just ended chrome process, vram usage dropped, chrome seems to be culprit. No way of knowing why it was using almost 2 GB of vram, my system memory is 8GB ...

What were you doing in Chrome? Most modern web browsers are using some degree of GPU acceleration today, at least in certain tasks.

I did use youtube , but i closed all those tabs and only this forum tab was running,...

Youtube at this point is using HTML 5, which (if I understand correctly) can make decent usage of your GPU. 1.5 GB still sounds like a lot, though, and strange that it didn't free up that VRAM when the tab was closed. Chrome bug, maybe?

I turned off hardware acceleration and background app running.. seems to be fixed for now. Hardware acceleration would not make much difference if you have a strong cpu right ? ( i5 4670k in my case) 

edit: turned it back on, let the app run background off, youtube video looked horrible without acceleration
