integrated cooler

Go to solution Solved by Peter Vaughan Truslow,

Is the integrated cooler on the xeon e3 1245v3 good enough for gaming? Ill be using for about a year while i save up for a cooler a gpu and a monitor

if you have decent airflow, the included cooler will keep it plenty cool(ignore Mason) if you overclock then an upgraded cooler but I have one computer using the intel stock heatsink and it doesn't get unacceptably hot.

I'll even be overclocking a Pentium K on the stock cooler in my next HTPC build to push the stock cooler's limits.

I'd never overclock a quad core on the stock cooler but a stock clocked quad core is fine, and an overclocked dual core is going to be interesting.

The integrated cooler is designed to work perfectly with the Xeon, since it's not overclockable anyways, and it's a Xeon (higher quality chips then i7 counterparts)

Stock coolers are cheap crap. If you really dont have the cash for something beefy, grab a CM Hyper 212 Evo for cheap.

If they were cheap crap, Intel wouldn't have included it.

To the OP, yes, it will be fine.

Calm down. Xeons and the coolers that come with them are designed to match each other well and perform perfectly fine for the lifetime of the PC, never mind a year. If you want to bitch about stock coolers go find someone using an FX6/FX8 with the AMD stock cooler.

Oh my god, I had to use the stock cooler that came with my 8320 for about 1 week. It almost drove me insane.
