EVGA - Causing doubt

Hi, so as most of you know, EVGA sorta screwed their 970/ cooler with the heat pipe thing. And the fact that it makes a terrible noise. Are they doing anything to fix this? I was planning to buy an EVGA card because hell, EVGA are known for their quality. But the whole cooler situation, and noise (I'm going for a quiet build) is really putting me off. Anyone know?

They didn't screw anything and that's not the cause of it being loud, that's the fan profile.

The 750 Ti was the first to have this issue. You can check my Sig to see how I resolved it.

They kinda did screw it, but I reckon they'll release a revised edition or even a "reference" design, idk.

I haven't looked into the 980 one, so I put both. Edited out now

Yeah this is the EVGA ACX 2.0 Heatsink they have a passive fan mode also on the ACX 2.0 cooled cards.
