Hey

Going into csgo, wanting to change some configs which can only be done through console - I was basically trying to make an autoexec.cfg through tutorials on youtube and websites.

It works the very first time i put it in the folder where it is supposed to be, but then it just stops, which is weird to me. I have tried to fix it, but it still doesn't work.

viewmodel_offset_x 2
viewmodel_offset_y -2
viewmodel_offset_z -2
viewmodel_fov 68
cl_crosshairstyle 4
cl_crosshairthickness 0.6
cl_crosshairsize 2.5
cl_crosshairdot 0
cl_crosshaircolor 0
cl_updaterate 128
cl_cmdrate 128
bind f "use weapon_flashbang"
host_writeconfig

This is what i want to be inside the autoconfig, and as said, it works the first time I use it, but never again then. I heard the bottom line should fix it, but still no change.

How could i possibly fix it?

Things that gets reset to default every time it doesn't execute:

cl_updaterate 128
cl_cmdrate 128

viewmodel_offset_x 2
viewmodel_offset_y -2
viewmodel_offset_z -2
viewmodel_fov 68

Edit:

I tried manually putting it in the config.cfg file, still just resets it, but keeps the crosshair and the binding.

Also - when i type "exec autoexec.cfg" (without the ") as the bottom line in the config, it just gets removed.

Edit again:

I tried another config, it works somewhat, but again, executing it manually typing "exec autoexec.cfg" in the console, but viewmodel still doesnt change from the standard - fov changes i think though.

You could try to right click the .cfg file, go to properties, then on one of the tabs make it "Read Only" by putting a check mark in the box.

I'll have a look around, I haven't played CS:GO in a while so I'll have to get reacquainted with how autoexec works.
