760 lag issues

I've been have bad freezing/lagging in every game I play, for instance one minute I'm getting 60/70 fps and then it will struggle to get to 20. I have put my settings to lowest I can get them and I still have the same problem, I have had this problem despite the driver, I have the latest driver. Any ideas on how Ican I fix this?

Try to update the Nvidia drivers to the latest beta, and select 'clean install' so it'll remove everything and then reinstall the drivers.

full uninstall and full reinstall of drivers?
