I have a XFX Radeon HD 6950 X 1GB in my system, but I would like something better. I have around $150, so is it better to buy a new gpu or add one more

Not worth it to buy a new GPU, since for $150 the best you'll get is a 750 Ti, which just happens to be identical in performance to the 6950. Just save up for something a lot better as even adding a second one would limit you in that you'd have two GPUs and only 1GB of VRAM.

I think ncix has a gigabyte gtx660 going for $150 after rebate right now, would be about a 25% performance increase iirc. I've seen 6950's going on ebay for dirt cheap though, so a second might be good option. nvm, 1GB vram will suck doubling those up...
