Okay so i fixed it i only had to completely go to factory default setting and go through ati ccc setting and now it works even though i fixed my self thanks for the help

Hi so i have a 16:9 monitor that is native 1920x1080 and when i plug it into my laptop via VGA (that's the only way to hook it up) the res is 1600x1200 and when i go to change the res. 1080p doesn't show as an option and when i select 1280x720 it is awkwardly stretched in the  center and all drivers are up to date.

My build: Cpu: (AMD Ryzen 7 1700) Heatsink: (Deepcool Captain 240 rgb) GPU: (Zotac AMP! GTX 1060 6gb) Ram: (Corsair LPX 8Gb DDR4 2400) Mobo: ( Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K&) Case: (NZXT Phantom 410 Gunmetal) PSU: (Lepa B550 550w) OS:  (Windows 10

Does your laptop screen have the same aspect ratio as your monitor?

Intel i7-870  //  MSI GTX 670 PE       ///       Intel i7-4500U  //  GT720M

Instead of duplicating try extending the image to the next one, the screens will be independent from each other.

|CPU : Core i7 4770 (non-K :( ) | GPU : XFX RX 480 GTR 8GB @ 1385Mhz | MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 | PSU: XFX 850W PRO | Case: In-Progress Silverstone TJ-07 |

i have tried to extend displays and every thing such as that it's that 1920x1080 doesn't appear on my available display size and laptop screen has ares of 1366x768 and when i select a 16:9 ratio it is similar to watching a widescreen movie on an old 4:3 tv
