Prebuilt Gaming PC

Go to solution Solved by Rashy,

Whats wrong with prebuilt?

Theyre sometimes un-customizeable and sometimes comes with a: if-you-tamper-with-it warranty void. Like one packed warranty. Custom built is custom built for you preference, e.x: if you would like a 980 with a i7  but the option is to go with an i5, and if you try to change the components within the prebuilt the warranty voids. *shrugs* basically its Big Mac with Ice Tea rather than Bic Mac with Coca-Cola (McD ref). But if the prebuilt suits you well then i see no reason to object your decision... man playing dragons age origins really made me wise not really

Well im thinking of buying my first Gaming rig and have a budget of around £600.

I dont want to build it as I am quite busy, so i would like a prebuilt rig.

I have found this one, which to me looks like good specs, not sure though.

Would like other peoples opinions.

http://www.cclonline.com/product/152773/NoMfgCode/Desktop-PCs/CCL-Elite-Raven-IV-Gaming-PC/CCL-EL-RAV4/

I am planning to play games such as Arma 3, Arma 2, Dayz mod and Battlefield 4

  • Intel Core i5 4690 3.9GHz CPU
  • 8GB DDR3 Memory
  • Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H Motherboard
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
  • 1000GB Hard Drive
  • DVD-RW Drive
  • 3 Year Collect & Return Warranty
  • Form Factor: Mini Tower

The main thing bothering me is the fact that the tower is a mini tower and not a Midi tower, is it worth it to pay the extra £25 to change the tower or is it not difficult to replace after a few years when i upgrade?

And if anyone has any experiance with the company CCLOnline is their customer service for returns of damaged products good?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully replying to me.

This is actually the first prebuilt I've seen that is actually quite decent for its price. Not overkill putting an I7 in and then relying on either the iGPU or some shitty R7 240.

Edit: Moving it to a bigger case is not that difficult. Just remember to leave the CPU, CPU cooler and RAM in, no need to remove those when changing cases.

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Can't you just choose the parts you want, and have them (the shop) build it for you O.o I know that in a computer shop i'm buying from that is free :)

This one doesnt do it the only thing you can do is customise one of the ones they have and you have to pay like £25 for changing anything
