Seems like a fairly good build. You mentioned that you were going for Windows 7, does that mean that you already have Windows 7?

Also, I would recommend putting in an SSD.

Intel Core i7-4790k | ASUS 4GB GTX 970 | 32GB (4X8GB) DDR3 Corsair Dominator Platinum

ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO | 256GB Samsung 840 Pro + WD 2TB Storage | Corsair Hydro H100i | Windows 8.1 64bit

not i don't own a windows 7 yet but it seem to be the only choice these days for normal OS that won't make any compabilty issues and such.

i thought about an ssd but im gonna wait for now because i don't have that much money and im waiting for a price falling a bit.

If the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is available it would be a good choice. Otherwise the 212x would be better than the Alpine 11 Pro.

Of the two memory kits, the better would be the one with the lowest CAS - the first number in the timings. CAS 9 or less is optimal for DDR3-1600.

I would chose the Seasonic S12G psu. Although an equally good quality modular or semi-modular unit available (e.g. Seasonic M12II 520W) psu would be better.

Either hdd is okay.

The 300R case is a little easier to work in.

Try to squeeze a 120GB+ ssd into the budget.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Windows 7? *sigh*

Don't get Windows 7. What compatibility issues are you talking about? Get Windows 8 and you won't regret it if you make the effort to get use to it. It's the best OS to date. Such a delight to use, because it functions more efficiently without all the bloat.

Windows 7 is still fine, though, I can't argue about Windows 8. I've been using 8 for quite a while and I haven't run into any compatibility issues, or seen anyone that has had issues. Though, if you're planning on using pretty old programs, then, possibly... but they would have to be pretty old, still.

If you're up to either learning Windows 8, then that is what I recommend, if you're not and more comfortable with 7, then sure, it'll be something you'll enjoy.

However, the optimization in boot up and things of that nature, where Windows 8 is a bit more light weight initially, is a neat addition. There are fixes for the Metro/Modern UI, if that is something you don't want to use. Programs like WinStart and other programs similar would make the experience as close to Windows 7 is another way to go.

Also, the recommendations that brob presented are a good way to go, pretty solid.

The compatibility issues that i have experienced was with my mom's laptop which have windows 8 installed on it.

she has these stock market programs which i found quiet difficult to run with the OS win 8 and gave me all sort of troubles, im trying to recall if i managed to fix it.

more so i had the feeling that the windows 8 she got came with alot of bloatware, i don't know if becasue of the shop who sold us the laptop or it just came with it.

Is the win 8 really worth the extra money? UI wise it seem less intuitive to me but i hear a lot of the same "when you get use to it, it's great".

i will reconsider the OS matter.

memory -the memory kits informtion i wasn't really aware of that, so i have an option to get the same aegis with 5$ more the CL9 version instead of the CL11.

psu - well  the s12g has 80+ gold rating vs Seasonic M12II which have 80+ bronze and 30W less .

my concerns are that under load the psu won't be able to deliver enough power with the 520W and the recommnded wattage the gtx 970 550W i think, though modular would be really nice.

case - would a 212 evo or X212 would fit in a 200R case right?

ssd - currently i can't afford one but in the near future i think ill buy a kingston 120gb ssd

Get the CL9 memory.

The s12g is a good choice.

Yes the 200R can accommodate cpu coolers up to 165 mm. They Hyper 212 EVO is 158.5 mm tall.

Kingston V300 ssd do not have a very good reputation these days. The issue is more one of shady marketing practice rather than a serious technical flaw. Crucial, Mushkin, Adata, and Sandisk often have units around the same price.
