this happened to me too today, it wouldnt start websit protection and it failed to scan.. eventually got it working and it didnt find any viruses... must be an issue on there end

anyyyways go to where you installed malwarebytes (for me C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Chameleon\Windows ) and in the chameleon folder, start the "mbam-chameleon" application and let it do its thing

I just did and it came up clean.

for the virus scan? it should have, but it also should have fixed it, atleast it did for me.

also, this seems to be a common problem, heres what malwarebytes says to do

  • First start by restarting your computer then go to the next step
  • On the Dashboard click "Update now" to get the latest database version
  • Right click the Malwarebytes tray icon and click "Exit"
  • Restart the Malwarebytes application from the programs menu or desktop shortcut.
  • In most cases this resolves the issue, however if the issue still persists, reboot the computer again and the issue should be resolved.
  • If the above procedures still do not correct the issue for you then please download the MBAM installer and reinstall the program which will fix the issue for you.

I had an error come up telling me the data base was either missing or corrupted yesterday, other than that MB has been working fine. Could be from an update like others have pointed out.
