I think you should save up and get something from the blue team (intel). Like an i5 or i7? What's wrong? Are you out growing your current processor?

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/

I recommend going to Intel socket, cause AMD has weak cpus.

I'm happy with what I have for now. But i'm planning on running r9 270x's crossfire and the 6300 isn't going to handle it. And since I already have a nice 990fx board it would be nicer to have an 8000 series cpu. Do you think it isnt worth the money?

If you care about gaming get an Intel processor, if you do only rendering you can get an AMD processor for cheaper price then 5820K.

PC : | CPU: Intel 4790K | COOLER: Corsair H105 w/ JetFlo's Push/Pull | MOBO: EVGA Z97 Classified | GPU: EVGA FTW 4GB GTX 970 X2 | RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 1866Mhz 32GB | CASE: HAF Stacker 945 | PSU: Corsair AX1500i | DISPLAY: Asus MX299Q | SSD: 2 X Corsair Neutron GTX 480 GB in RAID0 | mSATA SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 500 GB | HDD: 4 X Western Digital RED 4 TB in JBOD |

I guess I'll wait and see what AMD is going to bring in the future and I'm not really feeling like switching to intel

Well, new CPU's are coming in 2016 and there is a really big chance that they are going to be on a new socket because it will be a new architecture. There will be new APU's until then but nothing major for gamers. As for the FX 8370, find some benchmarks compared to FX 6300 and see if it's good enough of an upgrade for you but I don't think you'll gain that much if it's just for gaming.

I've been seeing benchmarks and it doesn't perform much better than the 8350 so I will probably end up getting the 8320 or 8350 and something like a h80i and then in 2016 switch platforms if its worth it.

You won't see any drastic difference between your 6300 and 8350 but go for it if you really want it and have $$.
