The ACX cooler is 27cm or just under 11 inches long. The PCB looks a lot like the reference GTX 780 board. EVGA decided to reinforce the baseplate to strengthen the PCB and provide a bit more cooling to the memory chips and MOSFET.

If you're going to water cool then there's no point paying for a premium cooling solution, especially if you're going to remove it.

Do your homework and figure out a stock card that's cheap that has a stock PCB.

Mind you EVGA are really cool about warranty when it comes to removing the cooler so it may be worth the extra :)

You could just go with a stock 780 from EVGA or any other brand.... the stock cooler is really quiet to be honest and it will get you by until you do get around to water cooling the card.

My titan's fan gets loud when I play games, if the coolers are the same I'd rather just spend the 10$ extra and get the evga acx for the like 10+ degree cooler temps and quieter fans hopefully.

The 780 probably runs cooler than a Titan given it has less on it. But yeah, blower fans can be obnoxious no matter what card they're on.

Yeah but I think if I'm getting 2 780's with reference coolers maybe it'll choke for air and run a lot hotter than just my single titan, so I figure an extra 20$ for both cards and if the temps are 10+ degrees cooler I'll take that performance! haha xd
