trouble with an android app

I uninstalled ES File Explorer trying to fix a problem, which has since been fixed, but now ES won't reinstall onto my phone. it gives me an error during the install saying "unknown error during install:-24". I just want ES back on my phone without having to resort to drastic measures. running a Verizon Motorola Droid Ultra with theastest Android version. please help!

Are you reinstalling from the Play Store or from a .apk file? Try the Play Store then try a .apk file, If you'd like I'll send you mine since every android apk file site is shady as shit.

Do you think you may have corrupted any files recently? Like deleting part of ES File Explorer's data?

I got the error message on the Play Store, and when installing from an APK directly from Estrongs, it just said App not installed at the end of the installation. I then deleted the .estrongs folder using another file manager thinking that would fix the problem, but still no dice. Right now I have Cheetah Mobile's file manager installed just to have a file manager until ES can be installed.

clear your cache and run CCleaner on it.
ES File explorer gave me shit once and clearing my cache shut it up.

Tried it and still nothing. Same "unknown error code -24" from the play store, same "app not installed" message when installing from APK. keep in mind that I do not want to factory reset my phone just to get an app working.

same error. I think I'm just gonna give up, since the other file manager works for what I was using ES for: a basic file manager with LAN capabilities to look at files on my computer as well. Thanks for trying guys, and if it's any consolation, ES is still on my Kindle and it works just fine.
