so i finally built my first gaming pc a few months ago (had been using a mac book pro forever) it uses the A10 7850 APU and after it exceeding my expectations in performance i have finally saved up enough to put a shiney gpu in it. since this in an APU i was thinking about adding a R7 260x and using dual graphics get better performance, but recently i saw some sexyness that caught my eye the R9 270. i was wondering about which one i should buy currently the R7 260x is looking like the best candidate. another issue is that in the future i play on upgrading my display to dat 4k goodness since i have been spoiled by retina (i don't plan on really gaming in 4k just regular use once the price comes down). i was wondering if this amazing community could give me some feed back.

NOTE: i don't typically play game to win more but to have my mind blown by being thrown into a beautiful fantasy experience ie. theif

thanks

In that case the r9 270 should be all right it can game on 1080p but you wont be playing any games on 4k. What i woild do is get a better gpu (770) and a 1440p screen. Because even though resolution is important in games fps and details are just as or more important. You should see some comparisons of games on lower resolutions but on ultra and higher resolutions on low.

I'll get the 970/R9 290/285 and an i5.

And AMD APU+GPU solutions suck pretty much.

A single capable GPU will perform miles better.

What's your budget?

i don't really plan on gaming at 4k 1080p because i would basically need to make a whole new system but i do plan on getting a 4k monitor so i could use it for other every day things. again im spoiled by my mac book pros screen and im having an issue looking at my basic desktop at 1080p.

my budget is around 250 max but i really dont want to spend all that.

Get a 285/290.

It will perform MILES better than an APU+250X combo.

The 285 is just around $250.
