Hi, im building my new computer, due to the old ones crappyness. I have a budget, but some people will not call it a budget, because it is so large. I'm thinking about 13 000 Norwgian kroners, which will translate into 2250 USD, however everything in norway is 2 times more expensive than it is in america it will result somewhere around 1700USD. My parts are as following:

Intel Core i7 4770K

Corsair H100i

Asus Maximus VI Hero

16GB (2x8GB) Kingston HyperX Black

Samsung 840 series 120GB (You can get an OEM version in Norway, hell of a lot cheaper)

Seagate Barracuda 2TB

Asus GeForce GTX 770 DirectCUII OC

CM Storm Trooper (With a windowed side panel)

Corsair CX750M Power Supply

And NZXT Sleeved led Strip (Red)

So i wonder if this is a good build? I can stretch my "budget" to a GTX 780 but is it worth it? And Btw, the RAM is from my old computer so i cannot change that, but i havent decided yet.

Thanks for all the tips

Looks great. It's up to you to decide if you'll need the extra horsepower of a GTX780 though an upgrade to that wouldn't be missed. There will be quite a bit of a performance difference though perhaps with 1 1080p screen, it may be a little overkill.

Btw mind linking the 840 pro from Norway? :D

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

Fun to see so many Norwegian guys on here.

To the build I would say it looks great. Good choice of MB, IMO it's only the ROG-series and Sabertooth from Asus that looks good of all the Z87 MBs. The gold plated ones are not of my taste at all. I would also agree that the 780 is a must have if you can afford it. It would future proof your build even more.

Also you should've got the RAM and H100i on sale on Komplett. The Black's were up for about 749 NOK and the H100i was on for about 550 NOK a while back. Always great deals on there.

Current build: Antec P180, Asus P8Z68 Pro, Intel i5-2500k, Asus GTX 570 2GB, Patriot 16GB 1600MHz, Corsair HX 650W.

Not sure how much overclocking you are intending to do; but you may want to cut down on the motherboard and maybe get enough for a GTX 780 if you can; usually the ROG motherboards features are pretty superfluous anyway unless you are really serious about overclocking.

I got 16GB more RAM this weekend, forgot to mention. 32GB is very overkill though but, it was so cheap. However i did not know about the H100i sale. I think i will wait until "sommersalg" before i buy the parts, just in case they are cheaper.

I'll try to push my 4770k up to 4,8GHz but i dont know if im getting a good or a bad chip. But when this is said, some of the parts might come on sale, and then i will be able to buy the GTX 780, my budget isnt a supertight one, i can cut my self some slack and put the necessery money in
