I just powered up my first build after following all instruction in the Motherboard manual and all I got to happen was see the Motherboard light turn on, and the fans for the CPU, case and GPU turn on. Nothing on the monitor. I could not find a place on the motherboard to connect the speaker that came included with the case so that eliminates my only method of problem detection. I saw a thread in the troubleshooting section of how to correct things like this. I went through the entire list, even connecting my parts to my older PC (except the ram, and CPU as it is much older)

I have a M5A97 LE R.20 Motherboard

an FX 6300 processor

8 gigabytes of DDR3 HyperX Ram 1.5 volt

and an r9 280x.

I have not yet connected my hard drive or optical drive.

Yes I have turned it off and on

First thing I want to say is, Congratulations on your first build man :D.

Second thing is, did you plug your power cables into the Graphics card?

If so then is your power supply made by ultra, If your power supply is in fact an ultra power supply then GET RID OF THAT THING, POSSIBLY BURN IT WITH FIRE!! (For some reason that power supply doesn't like overclocking on that motherboard, send everthing back for replacement, and blame it on the power supply and buy something like a corsair power supply).

Try different ram, or don't overclock it at all (Try factory defaulting your motherboard by clearing the CMOS (Use your motherboard guide on how to do this)).

If any of these steps don't help respond to me by PM or quote.

I do not intend on overclocking. Like I said the graphics card is in fact plugged in and the fans are spinning, but I have no clue as to whether or not it is producing an output. My PSU is a Corsair 750 watt CX series. I am afraid that I am missing something blatantly obvious. Last time the fans didn't even turn on and the problem was that I forgot to connect the case cords to the mobo.

There is no harm in returning these items, you paid for them with your money, so my recommendation is warranty your parts always, and return the Graphics card.

Try testing all of the inputs to the Graphics card, Dvi-I, Dvi-D, Hdmi, Display Port.

Try a different Graphics Card.

Try a different power supply.

Try a different Motherboard.

I got it working by replacing the BIOS battery. Thanks for all your help.
