Hello, it's my first post here and i need some help. I installed Linux Mint on my laptop in D: partition and everything went OK, but after the restart i don't get any boot menu to select an OS. Now when i start the laptop it loads windows 7 without asking me. I did some search and found out a solution, BUT it doesn't work.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help

Im using Live CD (it's a usb stick but..) and those commands :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update (after which i get quite a lot of errors)
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && (boot-repair &) ( after this command i get E: Unable to locate package boot-repair

Sounds like you installed the boot loader wrong. It should be installed on the actual hard drive, not a partition.

Can you take a screenshot of the drive in Drive Manager? That would help us get a better idea of what's going on.

Are you missing the Grub2 boot loader menu? You might be able to repair it with this:

If this isn't the problem can you please explain what it is.
