Hey all, so I've been downloading quite a lot of songs recently (never really listened to music), and I just thought of a decent idea.

What I propose is that people upload their music (as in music that you've downloaded) to either Dropbox or SoundCloud, or maybe some other cloud service (preferably SoundCloud, because, well, that's it use).

So I'm asking before I make the thread is if,

A. Would anyone be interested in uploading their music for the benefit of others (so they don't have to scavenge it themselves), and definitely,

B. If this is completely legal, with copyright laws and such.

I'm sure it'd be fine if the free released songs were uploaded to SoundCloud (or something alike) for others, but I'd like to know about other songs, and if a referral to the YT video and the producer/publisher would be needed.

If this is able to be created I'd like it if there was a specified genre with the playlist and/or specified composer/publisher, NOT just "kewl moosik" or "epic sweg beats", but instead formatted like so: "_genre_ - _composer_ - _song name_" with the song, and "_genre_" as the playlist name.

I'd like to know if this is possible and if anyone would be interested.

Cheers!

Edit:

This idea isn't set in stone, so if the majority think it's a rubbish idea than I'd easily be able to let go of it.

I think this idea is a miss, too many parties to contact for permission to share music.

I upload my Library of around 4000 songs to Google Drive.

BUT I will be looking into copyright laws before I share them with you guys here.

I'll edit this post after.

Yeh, I've been looking at the CoC and for copyright laws for music for the past 20 mins lol.

Also, what's with the center-aligned text lol?

Yes, but preferably in a genre playlist. If it's all good than I'd prefer it if the comments with links to playlists and folders be quite short and to the point, so without why you think the music that's been linked is the bestest in the world.

But I'd also like to include every link in the OP, so to have it very organised.

How about you just make it so we link the artists Soundcloud/DL Location?

Well the point of the thread would be to have links to the "best" or at least "quite decent" songs in an organised fashion, without having to download all the music from a SoundCloud profile with some just okay ones.

Basically the thread would be where good music is listed, in a very organised fashion.

I guess there can be a 60's/70's group, but maybe not include over 9000 songs.

Yeh, I'm making this thread so that I know that it's able to be done without any infringements with acts or laws.

I've noticed that a few YT channels are made with the sole purpose of distributing music, where downloading and sharing are completely legal actions.

All remixes are (Afask) completely legal to download, cause you cant sell them legally

So it can be music by real artist's and not made by me? And can i make a youtube playlist?

I'd prefer it if it was in MP3 format, uploaded to SounCloud, Dropbox, Drive or something alike just to make it easier to download the files.

I don't expect everyone to do so, but just those who are interested in this.

But just fyi, there are a decent amount of copyright laws, and I'm now not sure if this is a good idea because it'd be so difficult to find out if it's no infringing on copyright laws to share 40+ individual songs.
