help settings with wifi's

my friend have 1mb/s wifi speed and i have only 100kb/s internet speed. so i think somethings wrong with my settings. i need help for it guide my step by step ( if you have a link how to do it please share it ) please. my rounter is tp link TD-W8961ND i live in indonesia, bali

1. Are you talking about when you are on the same wireless network?

2. Are you doing speed tests at different distances from the router? try going near it and running a speed test, it is likely that your wireless card is at fault if that solves it.

3. those speeds are horrible...

1. same wireless network ? you mean like carier ( not carier it's LIKE carier ) if so and the answer is yes

2. the router is next to me so damn close and for my friend it's from his room witch is quite a distances and use wifi.. i have tested the ping even with cable the result are almost the same.

2. Perhaps your computer is older and uses a slower wireless card than your friends computer.

1.nope.. diffent house but i forget to mention that my friend is my neighbrough so it's literly a cross the street.

2.maybe but i think it's a long shot cus his computer is a lenovo that is still have a pentium 4.. and my laptop is 2012

Perhaps your internet plan is slower than your friends, replacing your router would not speed up your internet if that is the case.

1. Nah.. That is impossible cus i have most expensive home internet plan.
