Front audio jack prob. Plz help :)

Hey guys,

I got my Ath m50 sv a long time ago. gr8 headphones but it does not work properly with the front audio jacks of my pc. I know the headphones r fine cuz it works with my phone and other pcs in my uni. When i Plug it in the vocals are too low. I have to go to balance and decrease one of the leves. But now it is ridiculous. The jack needs to be plugged in, in specific orientation for it to work. Shud I get a DAC or an AMP. Also please provide suggestions. My budget is 30.

Thanks in advance

you'll be hard pressed to find hardware for 30 bucks. Can you use the jack with other headphones?

Why is rear IO not an option? The cable is too short?

Yeah, you can use an extension cable. That would be your cheapest way out of this problem.

Front I/O is pretty much always terrible. Use an extension cable.

Depends on the case (pc casing), but yeah, most of the time they're not good. Too bad, some onboards have their built-in headphone amp go through the front jacks. My mobo is one of them, asus with VIA onboard chip.

I've read some people replace the generic cheap-ass cable from the mobo to the front jacks with better quality, thicker cables and shielding to minimize EMI. Some even replace the front jacks altogether with better ones.
