Interesting Adblock - Hulu behavior

In the past when watching something on hulu with adblock enabled the ads would "play". When it was time for an ad you'd get a black screen for the duration of the commercial (and then some -- a 3 minute commercial would last 4 minutes with adblock on). But recently -- the last couple days, the ads get completely skipped through....

 

Has anyone else noticed this, or is there something else going on...

This happened for me with Twitch when i used to use adblock on it .. whenever a streamer played an ad it would just have a black screen for the duration, i think adblock was patched something in the code on their end changed cause after afew weeks it stopped happening
