Need help in PC build

Hi guys,

I want to build a gaming PC but I am totally confused about the specs. I normally play FPS games and I also need it to be good at running virtual machines on it because I will be doing my work on it. I also do some graphics work and photoshop stuff. 

I did some research but I have no idea how to select specs for my PC. I can spend around 800-850 EUR and I live in Germany.

 

Any help would be highly appreciated.

All these prices are approximates, PCPartPicker is stupid for Germany, so just look for the best retailers. These are the parts I would go with though:

 

Mainboard: Asus H97M- E     80,-

CPU:           Intel Xeon E3 1231v3     220,-

RAM:          HyperX Beast 1866Mhz 16Gb (2x8GB)     160,-

GPU:          MSI R9 280 TF IV      200,-

HDD:          Any HDD you desire, spend no more than     100,-

CASE:        Fractal Core 1000      40,-

PSU:          Corsair RM 450     90,-

 

Total: ~890,-

 

Sorry. Your given budget is really tight for what you are asking!

Maybe you can save some money on the GPU, get a Sapphire Dual-X 280 and only pay 180,- there.

 

Maybe you can step down your CPU a bit, but if you want to run VMs, I would go with a nice CPU with HT.

 

Also the RAM should be 16GB at least, because again you want VMs to run.

 

The case is not THE best in the world, but a solid choice.

 

The PSU is enough with the 450W. You won't be overclocking, and your GPU is not super power hungry, you could even step up to a 290 or 970 and be fine. And it is 80+ gold, and it has very nice black cables, in case you want a windowed case later, that is something to consider.

 

I did not include an extra CPU-cooler, because you won't need something other than the intel stock one. It would be nice, but won't boost performance and I think that is more important here.

No the first is intel, the second amd. You have to overwrite your shopping cart.

Thank you guys for your help. I will wait around for some time to raise my budget to 1400 or so, then it would be better to make a good system.
