Good Mix Or Not?

Go to solution Solved by Tro,

Get a K version CPU if you wanna OC, this one is locked.

I'm building a $1000 budget gaming PC (AUD)  and would like to know if this processor and motherboard are a good match for me to overclock the CPU. (Don't mention overheating i have good CPU cooling) Thanks :)

I know the OP said he wants to OC but he can save a large chunk of money going with what he said

Not everyone wants to overclock and you can save a significant amount of money because the motherboard, cpu, and cooler can be cheaper. I hate how everyone assumes that people want to OC.

Read the OP's post for fucks sake -_-

Keep in mind that just getting the K version wont be enough to overclock and that the MSI B85-G43-GAMING is pretty much the worst mobo you could get in this situation. Not only does it need a bios update to work with the CPU (for which you might have to put a last gen Haswell in first) but its also B85 chipset wich is garbage and meant for budget business computers. Please do yourself a favour and get a Z97 board... :)
