Might be dead. if this is the case,

throw it in a bag, into the freezer, then after a few hours you itll work for 5-10 minutes. watch out for condensation, keep it away from everything else in your case. had to do this with my bros hard drive. his situation was a clicking noise, like it was trying to spin but couldnt.

This literally does nothing, or it will fuck it up even more. Common myth.

well, considering that it wouldnt boot, froze it, then it worked until it got warm again, going to have to disagree with you. granted it wont work with every hard drive every time it doesnt work, worked enough to get important infromation off of the drive.

Killed 3 of my drives with the same problem as the OP. And I did it the same way.

Beeping hard drive = failed hard drive.

OP, if there's important info on the drive, don't freeze it. Attempt a software-based data recovery or send it to a data recovery specialist. If the data is not important, the freezing thing sometimes works. It works extremely rarely and always kills the drive soon afterwards as condensation builds up.

Also, if it's a 2TB, I'm guessing that it's still in warranty. If I were you, I'd buy a new drive and an external enclosure. Use the new drive in your PC. When you get a refurbished 2TB drive back from warranty, pop it in the enclosure. I wouldn't keep important data on a refurb drive, but it's fine as a backup.
